Established in 1989, Scrigno is a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of exclusive counter frames for pocket sliding doors and windows, 100% Made in Italy.
The company is headquartered at Sant’Ermete, in the commune of Santarcangelo di Romagna (Rimini), with facilities covering 50,000 sq.m., and a factory just a few kilometres away in Savignano sul Rubicone, measuring 30,000 sq.m. under cover.
With approx. 180 employees making 500,000 counter frames a year for export to over 30 countries, Scrigno boasts a turnover of more than 70 million euro in 2021 – over 50% in foreign sales - and is well known as a benchmark and leader in the industry.

Since 2003 it has had a branch in central France, at Montceau-les-Mines with Scrigno France, since 2009 in Barcelona with Scrigno España and since 2014 in Prague with Scrigno SRO.

Since 2019, Scrigno has also been active in both the security sector, through a line of security doors made by its subsidiary Master, a Piacenza-based company with a production of more than 30,000 security doors a year,as well as sealing strips and accessories capable of enhancing the technical performance of windows and doors, thanks to the acquisition in October 2019 of 100 percent of CCE (Costruzioni Chiusure Ermetiche srl), an outstanding Italian business.

As of November 2021, the company became part of PAI Partners MMF ("PAI"), one of the most prominent private equity firms.

Technology and Production

Scrigno production includes counter frames for windows and doors, sliding and swing doors, and a series of accessories designed to offer innovative solutions for space recovery.

The offering is divided into the 3 product lines: GOLD, the top of the range; ESSENTIAL, characterised by the minimalist concept; and Scrigno TECH, the range of counter frames for interiors designed specifically for construction sites and professional usage in general.

Each Line is able to meet the specific needs of the market, in terms of both target type and price.

Scrigno produces about 500,000 counter frames per year.

In a continuously changing economic scenario, Scrigno welcomes the change and adopts a new system for automatic packaging, which can guarantee even greater robustness of the packaging and protection of the counter frames. The investment belongs to a broader intervention plan, launched in 2017, aimed at reorganising processes in order to reduce the manufacturing cycle time and triple the production capacity. The installation took place at the end of August at the Scrigno2 plant in Savignano sul Rubicone. It will allow the automation of the production process steps through robotic, digital and interconnected solutions, from a 4.0 perspective, thus effectively reducing lead time.

The new packaging plant, which covers an area of 2,500 m2, is directly controlled by the ESM (Manufacturing Execution System) that monitors, in real time, the entire production cycle. It consists of robotic devices, including anthropomorphic ones, and an automatic transfer system for counter frames; it also guarantees an improvement in the quality standards of packaging, both with regard to the box and the closure system, and palletisation.

Scrigno’s hi-tech breakthrough of the last three years is thus confirmed, always keeping an eye on the market and pursuing a development strategy that, in addition to enhancing the brand, aims at the operational efficiency of its industrial hubs from a Lean perspective.
