A collection that rewrites the language of doors:

Scrigno opens a new design season with Mappa Mundi<\/strong>, the first door collection designed by Elisa Ossino. The collection will be unveiled at Cersaie 2025 and represents a turning point in the brand\u2019s journey, with an increasing focus on the world of high-end design and aesthetic innovation.

The project stems from a deep reflection on the meaning of the doorway \u2013 not merely a practical feature, but a symbolic and sensory threshold, a passageway and place of transformation. Using an approach that blends precision with material innovation, Elisa Ossino restores the door\u2019s true architectural identity, able to engage with spaces in a simple yet powerful way.

\u201cMappa Mundi stems from the idea of conceiving the doorway as a cultural, symbolic and meaningful place. A boundary that becomes a space in its own right.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>

The design identity of Mappa Mundi comprises four lines \u2014 Ariminum<\/strong>, Litora<\/strong>, Borghi<\/strong> and Pentapoli<\/strong> \u2014 each one inspired by the Ravenna Cosmography<\/em>, an extraordinary 7th-century map providing a view of the world filled with geographical and cultural references. Just like in that ancient narrative, each door in the collection forms part of a wider landscape \u2014 a poetic mapping of contemporary living through form and materials.

The true innovation of the collection is the introduction of Cimento\u24c7, an original material in the world of interior doors, available in three finishes \u2014 polished, sandblasted and fluted \u2014 which enhance its tactile and sensory qualities. Lacquered finishes and woods in elegant shades complete the range, with their ability to create harmony or contrast with the surrounding architecture.

The entire collection was developed around an understated, timeless aesthetic that can be integrated with different design languages and mixed architectures. The door is not just considered as a simple, practical element, but as an active part of the space \u2014 a distinctive feature that interacts with the surrounding environment and enhances its quality.

Proportions and details come from meticulous research that reflects Scrigno\u2019s new vision, where technical precision meets the cultural value of design. Particular attention has been given to the choice of materials, with the aim of offering a rich, textured and coherent range, able to adapt to multiple types of interiors. For example, in the case of the woods, the colour palette was carefully considered, with warm and cool shades, designed to enhance their interaction with light and surrounding wall tones.

The definition of the proportions was the result of painstaking work, where attention to detail is key to ensuring balance, elegance and overall quality of the object.



Each of the four Mappa Mundi lines interprets a different relationship between door, wall and space:

Ariminum<\/strong> represents the unbreakable bond with roots and the local area
Litora<\/strong> plays with the transparency of glass as if it were seawater, relaxing and soothing those who look at it
Borghi<\/strong> conveys the distinctiveness of a material that defines a new standard\u00a0
Pentapoli<\/strong>, on the other hand, is a tribute to the balance between past and present, to the elegance of the ancient city, reinterpreted with a modern twist

With Mappa Mundi, Scrigno strengthens its positioning as a manufacturer of contemporary interior design architecture. Moving beyond simple opening systems, doorways become narrative and design features, providing an opportunity to explore materials, light and perception.
