Montebello, one of the most iconic doors of the Mappa Mundi collection, was selected as winner of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025 in the Finishes – Doors category. An award that not only recognises aesthetics, but also the ability to innovate through design, materials and vision.
Designed by internationally renowned designer Elisa Ossino, Montebello is the product of meticulous work on proportions, rhythm and materials. The result is a door with a clean, architectural style that treats the doorway as a narrative surface: an element that connects rooms, light and design identity. Its undulating texture adds a tactile, sculptural dimension, turning the door into a visual and material focal point that speaks to contemporary architecture.
At the heart of the design is the use of the patented Cimento® material with its strong expressive quality — 100% Made in Italy. Made from cement and natural aggregates, Cimento® is sustainable, durable and surprisingly lightweight. Its three finishes — polished, sandblasted and fluted — enhance the tactile quality of the surface and transform any door into a tangible, living presence that interacts with the surrounding architecture.
This award confirms Scrigno’s commitment to moving beyond the door as a technical element towards a design and cultural tool that elevates interiors and becomes an integral part of the language of contemporary living.
Success in the finishes-doors category. A new milestone for Scrigno and the design created by Elisa Ossino
