Patricia Urquiola presents the Elianto Door at Rossana Orlandi Gallery as part of an experimental micro-architecture installation
On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2026, Scrigno and CIMENTO® are taking part in The Door, an exhibition organised by the Rossana Orlandi Gallery, which invites international designers to reinterpret the concept of the door as an architectural and narrative element.
The centrepiece of the installation is the Levos security door, part of Scrigno’s Archè collection, which blends seamlessly into the architecture, remaining open and merging with the material continuity of the structure. The door’s flush design and clean aesthetic create a seamless dialogue between inside and outside, turning the doorway into a sensory experience.
The Elianto Door stands out for its strong focus on research and experimentation with materials: the CIMENTO® surface applied to the Scrigno door reveals a dynamic texture characterised by variations that accentuate the visual depth and expressive power of the design. The compound incorporates biofillers derived from grape seed, sunflower, and corn by-products from the food industry, reinvented as a design resource within an innovative process that opens up new opportunities for dialogue between design and sustainability.
This approach forms part of the Linea Madre research project by CIMENTO®, summed up by the tagline “The earth remembers. The material tells the story.”: a reflection of the time hidden in the material and the potential to transform organic waste into new creative mediums.
Participation in The Door strengthens the Scrigno-CIMENTO® partnership, both of which continue to be contemporary interpreters of the connection between spaces, where technical innovation and aesthetic design meet to redefine the concept of opening, transforming it into a sensory and experiential journey.
