The Controluce project, designed by Egidio Panzera, awarded by the international jury of the XXIX ADI Compasso d’Oro
Scrigno has received the ADI Honorable Mention as part of the 29th edition of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award for Controluce, the project designed by architect Egidio Panzera that reinterprets the concept of the threshold through light, material, and space. The recognition was granted by the international jury of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award, which selected Controluce among the projects awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2026 edition of the prize.
With Controluce, Scrigno offers a new interpretation of the flush wall-mounted door: no longer a simple architectural element, but a surface capable of transforming light into a design language. Developed by Egidio Panzera, the door integrates a discreet and refined LED lighting system that runs through the wall like a luminous sign, evoking the presence of the space beyond the threshold.
“Receiving the ADI Honorable Mention for Controluce represents a highly valuable achievement for us, as it confirms the relevance of the evolutionary path Scrigno is pursuing in the field of interior architecture,” says Fabrizio Campanella, CEO of Scrigno Group. “This recognition testifies to our commitment to developing solutions in which technical innovation, design, and design culture converge into a new idea of contemporary living.”
“With Controluce, I wanted to explore the archetypal theme of the threshold and the idea of light as an emotional presence within space,” comments Egidio Panzera, architect and designer of the project. “The light filtering around a slightly open door is a deeply evocative image, capable of generating intimate, quiet, almost ascetic atmospheres. In this project, technology disappears to make room for perception: light does not invade the environment, but accompanies it discreetly, transforming the wall into a narrative element.”
Long regarded as a privileged observatory on the evolution of Italian and international design, the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award is one of the most authoritative recognitions in the sector, granted to projects distinguished by innovation, design quality, and cultural impact. Works awarded the Compasso d’Oro and Honorable Mentions are also included in the ADI Compasso d’Oro Historical Collection, recognized by the Italian Ministry of Culture as a heritage of exceptional artistic and historical value.
