Riviera by Mappa Mundi interprets the new Neo Deco revival with a glass door of essential design

Through arches, harmonious proportions and reflective surfaces, Riviera interprets the return of an aesthetic language that Pinterest Predicts identifies as one of the major design trends of 2026.

Trends tell us what is about to happen. The best projects, however, manage to anticipate them.

According to Pinterest Predicts 2026, Neo Deco will be one of the languages set to redefine interior design in the coming months. It marks a return to the elegance of geometry, arches, symmetry and reflective materials, reinterpreted through a more essential, lighter and contemporary aesthetic.

A language that finds natural expression in Riviera, the door from Scrigno’s Mappa Mundi collection, designed by Elisa Ossino, a benchmark among interior doors of 2026.

The return of the arch in the glass door

Art Deco turned the arch into an iconic architectural element, a hallmark of today’s most current arched doors.

Today that sign returns to the spotlight, but sheds every superfluous decoration to become pure form, proportion and balance. The Riviera glass door by Scrigno is born precisely from this reinterpretation.

Its arched profile evokes a classical imagery, reinterpreting it through a minimal language in which the structure seems to dissolve and glass becomes the absolute protagonist. The threshold is no longer an element that separates rooms, but a surface that reflects light, amplifies space and builds new visual perspectives.

Transparency as a design material in the glass door

Part of the Litora line, Riviera is designed to dissolve the boundaries between inside and outside.
Available as a sliding glass door, hinged glass door, pivot door and external wall-mounted sliding door (note: add a link to the website page for each of these): thanks to glass as a narrative material, it welcomes light, reflects its surroundings and turns the passage into a perceptual experience.
The continuity of surfaces, the flush alignment with the wall and the essential design all contribute to an architecture made of lightness, depth and reflections, in perfect dialogue with the Neo Deco aesthetic that is returning to the forefront of contemporary interiors.

A new elegance for the glass door

If Deco celebrated luxury through decoration, its return today comes through subtraction. Geometries become purer, materials gain depth thanks to light, and symmetry once again becomes a design tool capable of creating balance and harmony.
Riviera interprets this evolution naturally: a door that does not seek to impose itself, but to dialogue with the architecture, reflecting the space and multiplying its perception.

With Riviera I wanted to evoke a suspended, almost metaphysical atmosphere. The inspiration comes from a strong reference to classicism, but reinterpreted in such an essential and minimal way that it becomes extremely contemporary. It is an abstract, rarefied door that fully represents my design identity and the pull toward abstraction that always accompanies my work.
